🧭 You’re Asking… Instead of Leading

“You’re asking… instead of leading.”

Here’s something that sounds collaborative…
but actually weakens your authority:

“What do you think we should do?”
“How would you like to approach this?”
“Let me know what works for you.”

Now—sometimes, that’s fine.

But when it becomes your default…

You stop guiding the conversation.

And you start outsourcing it.

Because every time you do that, you’re doing 3 things:

👉 removing your expertise from the table
👉 creating uncertainty for the client
👉 and slowing down decisions

Because clients don’t just need options.

They need direction.

Strong CSMs don’t just ask.

They lead.

They say:

👉 “Here’s what I recommend.”
👉 “Based on what we’re seeing, this is the best move.”
👉 “Let’s go with this—and adjust if needed.”

That’s the shift.

From asking for direction…

To providing it.

If you’re always asking…
you’re probably not leading.

💬 Your turn: Where do you find yourself asking… when you should actually be leading?

🔚 Tuesday Growth

“Clarity builds trust. Direction builds confidence.”

I’ll go first 👇

One habit I had to break:

Ending everything with
“Let me know what you think.”

It felt collaborative…
but it created hesitation.

Now I shift to:

👉 “Here’s what I recommend we do next.”

Same conversation.
Completely different outcome.

Because one invites uncertainty…
the other creates direction.

And that’s when decisions start moving faster.

Where could you replace a question… with a recommendation this week?
