⚡ Busy Isn’t the Same as Valuable

“Being busy doesn’t mean you’re being valuable.”

One of the biggest traps in Customer Success
is confusing activity with impact.

You answer emails.
Jump on calls.
Update dashboards.
Send follow-ups.

Your calendar looks full.

But the real question is this:

Did anything you did today
change the direction of the account?

Because the best CSMs don’t just stay busy.

They influence decisions.
Remove friction.
And move customers forward.

If your day feels full but nothing moves…
you might be optimizing for activity instead of impact.

💬 Your turn: What’s one activity CSMs spend too much time on that doesn’t actually move customers forward?

🔚 Monday Insight:
“Impact is measured by change, not by effort.”

I’ll go first 👋

One activity I see overused is status-update meetings with no decision attached.

They feel productive.
But if no direction changes afterward,
the account hasn’t actually moved.

The shift that helped me most was simple:

Every meeting needs either
a decision,
a commitment,
or a clear next step.

Otherwise it’s just noise.

What’s one activity you’ve reduced that gave you more real impact with customers?
